Draft System Cleaning, Installation, & Maintenance

The most thorough cleanings in the business.

As an RDS client you can expect the highest quality and most thorough cleanings available. Most distributers use (hand) pressure pot cleaners which are significantly less effective than the electric recirculation pump method used by RDS and often are on-call only. Beer lines should be cleaned with caustic cleaner every two weeks & de-stoning with an acid cleaner every three months. Establishments with a high volume of draft sales and less rotating handles may require less frequent cleanings.

A routine visit by Rogue Draft includes:

  • An in-depth evaluation of the entire system, including couplers, lines, fobs, cuttoff & backflow valves, washers, primary & secondary regulators, faucets, and drainage.
  • Labeling of lines at the couplers, at the regulators, and at the faucets, and establishing a cleaning log (first visit).
  • Disassembly and rebuild of faucets and sankey couplers when needed.
  • Complete flush of lines, followed by a 15 minute caustic cleaners via an electric recirculation pump, and a ph-checked flush after cleaning. (Acid cleaning recommended quarterly)
  • Reassembly and priming
  • Tightening loose shanks (floppy handles)
  • Balancing Co2 throughout the entire system

Installations & Upgrades

Thinking about upgrading your draft system or adding additional lines? We can work with you to determine your needs and select the right equipment based on your current system. RDS can also recondition and/or rebuilt most old faucets and couplers. Beer lines should be replaced every ten years, or more frequently after after pouring root beer, flavored beers, margaritas, wines, or ciders. Such beverages may permanently contaminate a draught line and possibly adjacent draught lines in the same bundle.

Service Calls

Rogue Draft Services is always available for service calls that don’t involve cleaning. Unbalanced Co2 gas within a system can cause foaming, an uncarbonated, or overcarbonated product. This creates slowdowns in service, frustration among staff & patrons, and unnecessary waste and expense. These problems can be exasperated by management and employees “adjusting” the regulators.

Staff Training

Staff training can be helpful to understanding sanitary and safety protocols in the walk-in, or kegerator, troubleshooting minor mechanical problems, and minor pressure issues. We are happy to work with the staff and management to instruct them in the best way to care for the system and keep them safe.
